I was at this match, AH discharged himself from hospital to play the game. I got to meet him afterwards and had some stuff signed / photos. A shadow of his former self but what a life he led and one of the last true entertainers. RIP.

This is the 4th maximum I’ve seen Ronnie do on RUclips in the last few days, all in some local club somewhere. There must be hundreds of these videos of Robbie casually racking up 147s. The man is an absolute genius.

Met them both (Kirk and Cliff) at some strip mall basement in north Toronto, at the Canadian championship. Both great guys.

Love watching these. Just wish that jimmy white could find a shirt that fit him in the sleeves. And takes himself way too seriously. He's the only one that never spoke throughout, not like the others joking around. As a player, he had some merit. The best player to never win the world title and all that. The thing with jimmy is, he's a petulant child at times. Seen it before in matches. Chucks his toys out of the pram if things don't go his way and has a tantrum. He never smiles. Always looks like he's on the verge of chucking his cue and storming off. Saw an interview with him once on here, can't stand the bloke. Very immature and very selfish. That's one of the reasons he never won the title. He's always given the impression that the title was his anyway, and 'why haven't I won it yet, surely it's my turn now'...he rushes at the last hurdle and screws it up every time and behaves like a kid. Great player (most of the time). But as a person, don't like the bloke. Never grown up.

On his day Tony could destroy anyone and he'd do it faster than you could believe. His speed of thought is phenomenal.

Loved this....this is why snooker has not been the same since the 80s & 90s....we dont have these amazing characters and entertainers anymore sadly. Snooker years ago was like somebody grabbed the game, dragged it to the crucible and slapped a tv camera on it. It was new, fresh, exciting and popular. Today there is to much PC culture which has made sport in general so drab & same old same old. What a shame. Better times gone by. At least i got to experience the golden years of snooker.

I'd forgotten how jerky Kirk's cue action was. He still pots OK though.

This is why snooker went mental in the 70s and especially the 80s.....it was because we had genuine characters. There was someone for everybody to love and support. My man was Jimmy White, its him who inspired me to learn the game & a great game it is too. Such fond memories tucking into my small single bed in the boxroom with my 14" portable tv at the end of the bed at my feet. I remember my mother letting me stay up really late to watch the final between Hendry & Williams when Hendry bottled it over the middle bag. Being a welshman i was bouncing for Williams to win it. Those were the days. Hetty weinthrope investigates followed by the snooker. Nostalgic as heck. Loved it🥰

I seem to remember every ball of that 147, especially the green. Watched it in a guesthouse in Donegal, Ireland, and the landlady was yelling at the TV, Go On KIrk! Go on Boy! I think we were all yelling and on the edge of our seats!

Saw these two and John Spencer at the city commercial club in Manchester. Alex was electric His cue bent when he hit the white so hard.will never forget it.also used to see him around town sometimes in the loos taking a pee.he was a ....buy still loved him.

Discharging yourself from hospital when you're near the end, in order to play snooker is the most Alex Higgins thing you can possibly do. There's only one Alex, only ever will be.
